Wayne “Gooch” Yamaguchi
Originally from Los Angeles, I came to Michigan by way of Indiana. I moved to Indiana as a golf professional. I then left the golf industry for thirteen years with careers including working as a Teppanyaki Chef (tableside Hibachi style serving) and in outside sales. My experiences as a chef cultivated a deep appreciation for food and the majority of the pictures I’ve posted on Facebook are food pics, hence the tag #FoodPorn. My introduction to a TEDx audience would say, Wayne “Gooch” Yamaguchi whose love of learning was nurtured in seven years of junior college where he majored in Jazz Band in five of those and the only reason he didn’t for all seven was because the San Diego Golf Academy where he spent two of those years didn’t have a Jazz Band.
Currently I work at Lake Michigan Hills Golf Club in Benton Harbor, MI where I serve with the title of Head Golf Professional.
