Christine A. Nefcy, MD, FAAP

Christine A. Nefcy, MD, FAAP, serves as Chief Medical Officer for Munson Healthcare, providing strategic direction for clinical initiatives and strengthening clinical practices across the system. She also oversees system safety and quality, the graduate medical education program and provider services. She also collaborates and provides guidance for the executive directors of the system service lines. 

 

Prior to joining Munson Healthcare, Dr. Nefcy worked as a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Intermountain Healthcare, a 22-hospital, non-profit system based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Nefcy was the CMO for four of the hospitals, representing the northern region of the system. Dr. Nefcy also recently retired after 23 years as a pediatrician and flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force and Reserves.  

 

Dr. Nefcy graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor’s degree from Bradford College in Bradford, MA. She earned her medical degree from The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Uniformed Health Service Education Consortium—Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.  

She is a graduate of the Academy GE Fellows Program, The Intermountain Healthcare Executive Development Program, and the Intermountain Healthcare Advanced Program in Healthcare Delivery Improvement.   

 

She currently lives in Traverse City with her husband Brian.  They have 4 children and a highly energetic labrador, and together have lived in 5 states and 2 foreign countries.
